AEP Council Nomination
Bristol County Estate Planning Council Nomination of a Member for AEP®
Members of the Estate Planning Council of Bristol County who are interested in AEP® designation may apply to the board for nomination. The Member should write a letter to the EPC of Bristol County board expressing such interest and confirming his/her ability/willingness to meet ALL of the following requirements.
- Applicant must hold one or more qualifying credentials -CLU®, ChFC®, CFP®, CPWA®, CFE, JD, CPA, CTFA, CSPG, MSFS, MST, and CAP® (with GS815).
- Applicant must be presently and significantly engaged in estate planning activities.
- Applicant must have a minimum of 15 years’ experience as an estate planner.
- Applicant must continuously be in good standing with his/her respective professional organization and/or licensing authority. An applicant who has been the subject of a disciplinary action by a governing board for any professional designation until a minimum of 5 years elapsed following resolution. The AEP® committee may, at its sole discretion, treat the presence of any disciplinary action as sufficient grounds to deny an application for the AEP® designation.
- Applicant must sign a declaration statement to continuously abide by the NAEPC Code of Ethics.
- Applicant must acknowledge a commitment to the team concept of estate planning by signing a declaration statement.
- Applicant must satisfy a minimum of thirty (30) hours of continuing education during the prior twenty-four (24) months, of which at least fifteen (15) must have been in estate planning.
- Active designation holders are required to continuously maintain annual membership in order to use AEP® designation (annual dues are currently $175).
- Active designation holders may be subject to an audit of certification requirements.
All such expressions of interest will be evaluated by the Bristol County EPC Nominating/Membership committee and the committee will determine which applications to endorse. The member will then be required to complete the NAEPC application process and provide any necessary documentation.
Bristol County EPC will consider active involvement in the local chapter in choosing applications to endorse to the national committee.
