Brown will discuss his experiences in D.C., the attempts to tax certain products to pay the bills, and the passing of legislation.  Senator Brown will also share his thoughts on the future of our debt, deficit and the ability to move forward.  There will be time for a question and answer period.

About our speaker:
Senator Scott P. Brown, of MA has a long history of public service beginning as an Assessor and Selectman in the Town of Wrentham. He then served in the Massachusetts Legislature as a State Representative for 3 terms and the State Senate for 5 years. After the passing of the late Senator Ted Kennedy, Senator Brown won a special election to complete the 3 years left on that term. During his time in the U.S. Senate, Senator Brown was a ranking member on the Armed Services Committee, as well as the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, and was a member of the Veteran’s Committee and the Committee on Small Business. 

Senator Brown was known as the most bi-partisan Senator in the U.S. Senate and was responsible for many pieces of important legislation to include: the Stock Act (banning insider trading for members of Congress), the Hire A Hero’s Veteran’s Bill (providing tax benefits for employers to hire returning veterans), the Crowdfunding Bill (provides online financing for new businesses), the Arlington Cemetery Bill, the 3% withholding Bill (terminates the stealth tax for businesses doing work with the government), the No Contracting with the Enemy Bill and many important pieces of legislation. 
In addition to his legislative experience, Sen. Brown is also a Colonel in the Army and presently serves as the Deputy to the Chief Counsel to the Chief of the National Guard Bureau and serves in the Pentagon. He began his military career in 1979 as an enlisted man. He received his officer commission through ROTC at Northeastern Univ. as an Infantry Officer and served in numerous capacities. He is also branch qualified as a Quartermaster Officer, and now serves as a member of the Judge Advocate General’s Corp. and is also Airborne qualified.
Senator Brown is an active, contracted contributor for FOX National News and recently joined the prestigious law firm of Nixon Peabody, LLP, where he will be working on many areas of the law to include governmental relations.
Senator Brown is a New York Times bestselling author with his book Against All Odds reaching #4 on the NYT bestselling list.
He recently joined the board of Kadant, Inc, an international paper product supply company, is travelling around the world speaking to numerous business, financial services, hedge fund, VC, banking and insurance groups.
Senator Brown is married to his wife Gail, a reporter at WJLA in DC and they have 2 daughters, Ayla, a successful singer/songwriter and finalist on American Idol Season 5 and Arianna, who works in DC at the Humane Society and is applying to Vet school.
